I'm now offering these new Monogram Necklaces in my Etsy store! I love the whimsical design of the letters and the way they can be dressed up or down as well as layered with other pieces. I have worn mine so many times since I made it a couple of weeks ago. It's my newest "go to" necklace. Letters shown above are D, J, S, and V from left to right.

The pendant comes with your choice of a 16" cable chain or an 18" box chain. The pendant and necklace are both solid sterling silver. I've even thought that adding a birthstone colored Swarovski crystal would look awesome! I've decided to expand my Family Nest collection and have just listed my new Family Nest Necklace in my Etsy shop. I love how easy it is to customize the birthstones to your liking. The example above was for a local client who had several family members to be included. We decided to dangle the anniversary and grandparent's crystals from the top center. New Bracelet Design

This beautiful bracelet is going to its new home today! A local client asked me to make something like this for her in custom colors. I love the way it turned out and will have to make myself one real soon!

The sterling frame was so hard to find in a wider size (this one measures 1 1/2" across) so it took some serious searching. I'm so glad that we waited to find just the right frame. We used turquoise and black beads along with sterling silver wire.

My husband and I took our son to see a movie this weekend and we ended up seeing "The Smurfs"! It was such a good movie and comes highly recommended. I grew up with these little blue guys and it was a blast from the past seeing them again. Gotta get in the attic and see if I still have any of the figurines that I once had as a child. As you know from my last post, I received an order of wire and ordered a few other items as well this week. In the past I've used solid sterling silver wire for everything I make, but the cost of sterling has gone through the roof, more than doubling in price recently.

I decided it was time for a price friendly change and that I was going to try sterling silver filled wire in my designs to see if it will stand up as well. The verdict is in: it is just as good (as far and I can tell) as it's solid counterpart. I've given my son a bath, washed dishes, washed my hands several times and it still looks new and like the day I made my ring.

If you see something in my Etsy shop that you like, but it is out of your price range, consider the sterling filled wire. It is a durable cost effective alternative and just let me know if you have any questions.

Yesterday, we took our son to see Lightning McQueen in the newest Cars movie. He loved it so much and I'd recommend it to anyone. If you liked the Austin Powers movie, you'll like this one about spies and racing. I plan on buying the DVD when it comes out to watch a few more times. I'd like to catch all the jokes, names, and other things I'm sure I missed the first time. And the buttery popcorn & cherry slush weren't bad either!

It is called the Penthouse Bracelet and has 100+ pink, peach and light brown Swarovski crystals! Securely fastens with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp and has all sterling silver findings. It is by far the most expensive item in my shop, but makes up for it in sparkle! This bracelet would be perfect for a special occasion, black tie event, wedding, or just if you want some serious glitz on your wrist.

As some of you may know, the price of silver has sky rocketed in the last year and a half. My price has almost tripled in that time and my Etsy shop's prices have also had to inch up. I recently found some sterling silver filled wire which is less expensive. The filled wire is not the same as plated. It is the same process to manufacture, but the thickness of silver is much, much more and so much more durable.

I have a big question and would like your feedback...would you like to keep prices where they are and use the sterling silver filled wire or would you prefer to pay more for solid sterling silver wire? Or is it something that I should offer both in my shop? Please let me know how to feel and what your preference would be...your opinion is much appreciated!

Fayetteville craft show...

was a huge success! So much so that I'm very close to being out of sterling silver wire until my order comes in Thursday. I had such a good time talking to everyone and selling my jewelry pieces. My biggest seller was the Family Nest Ring and each one was so pretty! My mother-in-law went with me to help out and we both "oooohhhed" and "awwwwed" over each one that was made. I love seeing all the different color combinations.

Craft Fair Tomorrow and a Prayer Request

Hi everyone! I am so excited about tomorrow - it is the DeKalb Co. Women's Show in Smithville, TN, and I will be set up as a vendor. I will be taking all my jewelry AND my new crocheting with me to this event. I am excited to see lots of people I know and sell a few things along the way. This show will benefit Freckles & Friends, a non-profit organization that helps lots of homeless animals find homes while raising money for their spay and neuter program. It is a very worthy cause and I am honored to be helping out.

I also have something else...a prayer request for a good friend's mom. She is fighting breast cancer and had surgery on Wednesday of this week. I am praying that all the cancerous masses and lymph nodes were removed successfully and the cancer has not spread anywhere else in her body. She will not know until early next week what stage her cancer is in. I am also praying that they caught it early and she will make a speedy recovery.

Well, that's it...if you're in the Smithville, TN area tomorrow, stop by the First Baptist Church's Life Enrichment Center around the square. I will be there with all my goods from 9a - 4p. Have a good weekend...

So sorry that I haven't posted anything here in a long, long time. The reason is because I have opened another Etsy store and it will be stocked very soon! This time, it is for crocheted homegoods that have several uses.

I've been crocheting wash cloths and dish cloths in fun and hip colors! These items can be used from everything from washing dishes, bathing, dusting, window cleaning, washing babies, etc. I am so excited about doing this shop and I will be experimenting this weekend at a local Women's Show to see what people think. If you have any suggestions like what colors you'd buy, sizes that you like, etc. I am open for suggestions. I plan on adding scarves and cowls later.

A New Beginning...

Hope everyone rang in the New Year and is having a good first day of 2011. Last night, my family went to a church about 35 miles away from us here in TN and rang in the new year listening to bluegrass gospel music. My husband was asked to record a local group called "Right on Time" so that they can put out another CD about the gospel and witness to others. We all had a good time and I'm trying to recover this morning from getting in the bed at 2am. I'm no spring chicken anymore! Wishing the best to you and yours in the new year.
