As you know from my last post, I received an order of wire and ordered a few other items as well this week. In the past I've used solid sterling silver wire for everything I make, but the cost of sterling has gone through the roof, more than doubling in price recently.

I decided it was time for a price friendly change and that I was going to try sterling silver filled wire in my designs to see if it will stand up as well. The verdict is in: it is just as good (as far and I can tell) as it's solid counterpart. I've given my son a bath, washed dishes, washed my hands several times and it still looks new and like the day I made my ring.

If you see something in my Etsy shop that you like, but it is out of your price range, consider the sterling filled wire. It is a durable cost effective alternative and just let me know if you have any questions.
